I jumped the gun and bought a sundanzer 450. 15cf fridge/freezer combo. Does anyone have any experience with this model or similar? I'm a solar newbie and don't have my system worked out yet. Just looking for some basic info/help with my setup. One basic question is how big of a battery bank will I need to power this monster. It's rated at .95kwh/day. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You have enough panels to run it
Charge controllers will have to be larger and battery bank will need to be optimized for the load but all is not lost at least yet.
You did however break a cardinal rule.

What about using a 48 to 24 vdc converter for the fridge. This way he can still use his 5 panels and go with the Midnight Solar 250 charger and a 48v battery bank.Comment

He will suffer losses through the converter.

Update on Sundanzer 450
Have completed my solar system and the fridge is working awesome. Draws less power than I expected. ~2 amps at 24v. Overall I'm very happy with it, but I'd be happy and thankful for any fridge after 3 years with no refrigeration. Oh the things we take for granted here.Comment
