Starting in England according to the news yesterday.
A good thing for the environment I think.
Quality?
I don't know. Probably not.

Prices are high if they do not include anything for design drawings, installation, permits, etc.
If they really are thin film panels, they are light weight and so easy for the store to stock, but of questionable durability and efficiency compared to crystalline.
However, they may be thinking that amorphous will perform better in the gloomy cloudy partial shade of the UK.
Hmmm, thanks. I'm not sure if I would buy a solar system from Ikea. I definitely appreciate their wares for what they are, and have bought many an ikea good over the years but it seems like solar panels may be too risky. On the other hand, I heard that Costco was getting into selling fine art which I was surprised by at first until someone pointed out that the margins at costco are significantly less than someone who exclusively sells fine art. Hopefully the Ikea development is a product of the same...
"Hanergy Solar UK have been chosen to offer a full solar installation service using next generation solar technology."
Bla bla bla and:
"Solar panel installations are currently available from the IKEA Lakeside store, and coming to your local IKEA store soon."
If it spreads I hope it will be an eye opener for the masses and help cut down on fossil fuels.
