Little help needed for charge controller amp requirements..
I have one (1) 100W solar panel connected to 70AH batter. What size of charge controller should i buy for this installation, assuming an average of 5hrs of sunlight per day..
thanks for the help..
Assuming you have a 12V system, 100W / 12V = 8Amp. You could get by on a 10Amp PWM controller, but a 15Amp controller only costs a little more and gives you room for growth. More power.......
I agree. With only 100 watts you could just use a PWM type CC which will handle the Imp of that panel or around 5.5amps. But I wouldn't go with anything less than a 15 amp CC which can handle two of those 100 watt panels wired in parallel.
Unfortunately the short coming would be if you wanted to go beyond 200 watts of panels now that 15A CC is useless and you should be looking at a MPPT type CC in at least the 30amp range.
I'm sorry i forgot to mention but yes it's a 12V system..
I think I would go for 15amp CC for now as we are planning to add one (1) more 100W panel..
But noting the shortcomings of this if we plan to go beyond 200W..
good evening, pls i need assistant with calculation on what to use for my solar set up.
am using inverter before but i wish to convert to solar, i used 4bedrooms,
d load i normally use is as follows:
4 * FANS
2 * TV
5 * 7 BULBS (18WATT EACH)
1 * FRIDGE
4 * 12V/200AH BATTERY
3.5 KVA 48V INVERTER
Wish to increase d battery to 8 (12V/200AH), Also to get 5KVA INVERTER.
Pls how many solar panel will i need to get and it capacity?
what other thing ll i need to get also?
sun do shine for average of 7 hours here.
