Most inverters will not work with a direct connection to a DC voltage source like a solar panel. You really need to be charging a battery and then run the inverter from the battery. -
You figure out the size of the load ( a 60w light bulb, a flatscreen TV 90w, a toaster oven 1,200w) and chose an inverter that handles that load at about 75% of it's capacity. Often a 300w inverter is the smallest size available.Powerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

I have 2 6 volt batteries hooked in series i have one 100 watt panel all i want to do is be able to operate a 27 inch led tv do i need another panel and what size inverterComment

What does the power sticker on the TV say ? My guess is you will need about 300 total watts of PV to keep the batteries charged, maybe 400W if you use the TV a lot
A 300w pure sine wave inverter should be enough for the TV, which I expect is less then 100w. I like the morningstar Suresine 300 for a really solid inverter.Powerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

The other big tip is to turn your lcd backlighting (not just screen brightness) way down. And watch in a shady place of course. You can cut the rated consumption quite considerably if you can get watch it with the absolute minimum amount of screen comfort.
