I haven't looked at how they are classified in the new 2020 NEC.9 kW solar, 42kWh LFP storage. EV owner since 2012 -
Everything old is new again ! Interesting. The main issue is constructing the cells to have individual vents for H and O2, and if you let fluid levels drop enough that they start to mix - you go boomPowerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

Admittedly, I've been doing some investigation (youtube) into hydrogen harvesting/storage and decided against it.
Hydrogen needs to be pure and at 100 PSI is a relatively dangerous activity to do from home.
Any air mixed with the hydrogen during compression and you could trigger an exothermic reaction, aka boom.
And besides, I don't want to be poisoning the electrolyte anyway from needing to replenish it with water, my closed loop recombiner vent plugs are sufficient.Comment
