    Was this system worth it?

Salesman came to door last March sounded really good $80 a month and small power bill under $10. He brought his tablet a couple days later and went over an "agreement" with my brother...filling all appropriate spaces. My brother has a medical condition that causes brain fog and can get confused. So now we have 15 QCells 320W panels-QCells 320w BOB G5 Inverter determined by ESP upon site inspection Roof Mounting System. Is this adequate for a 2000 sq ft home? For $31,000 with a finance charge of $15,000. Turns out that $80 monthly payment becomes $160 a month soon. The salesman disappeared after his $7200 commission came in. For a long time we could not get ahold of anyone at this solar company. The system stopped working a few months after it was installed. We filed various complaints and now they are finally talking to us. We go to mediation through the California State Contractors License Board on Sep.7. They are trying to make it right. They installed a new inverter and will present us with other remedies. My brother and I are Seniors on fixed incomes. We know next to nothing about solar. What do you think a fair solution would be? We would like to get out of the contract but they are saying it is too late. I have tried contacting them for months and all I got were apologetic bots who tell me...we will have someone in upper management contact you. They never did until after we started making the complaints.

BTW the salesman was unregistered. A supervisor told us after we complained about our high power bills that our system is working as expected. I said not as we expected, the salesman told us that our power bills would be about $10 a month. He responded "we can not be held responsible for anything that salesman told you. He is not employed by ESP." Funny how no other choices were offered for a contractor or financing.

Square feet will not answer questions, numbers to compare energy use to energy
generation are needed. It will be even more complex if you choose to use a
modern heat pump to take over some the heating as well as air conditioning.

Here chasing down all elecrical usage in 3 buildings, and replacing inefficient
stuff with energy star types, got the elecric bill under 5000KWh a year.

We have propane heat. We have A/C but don't use it much since we got solar. What is energy generation? What I am mainly interested in is how much would a similar system cost to install? A system that works?

Your solar system generates electric energy, how much? 5000 KWh per year,
15,000KWHh per year? How much do you use? I used to heat with propane,
cost varied between $1 a gallon and $5.5 a gallon. 27 KWh have the energy
of one gallon of propane, but if your furnace is only 92% efficient, only 25KWh
          will replace 1 gallon.

Get an up to date electrical heat pump, multiply your KWh effectivness several
times. Cut AC use, do some or all heating. I now use no propane. Bruce Roe
