If you have a PWM type controller you want to wire two in series for 24 volts If an MPPT controller your 3 in series wiring is correct. Either type, once you connect to your battery bank the voltage will be pulled down to somewhere just above the actual voltage of the battery voltage. The difference between the two types of controllers is that the MPPT will use all the voltage and current from the panels and convert the higher voltage into higher current, giving you more power. A PWM controller will only pass on the incoming current, losing all potential power from the higher voltage.
In your case you should see about 50% more current than the rated current of your panels.
