    Inverters not reporting

My micro inverters are not reporting to the gateway (Envoy LCD) and have not been for about a year (13 panel domestic system). Generating is ok and Envoy is connecting to the internet OK but no data going from the inverters to the envoy. I think I'm right in saying the data is sent along a cable to the Envoy and not wirelessly. The envoy is close to the RCD board and has it's own dedicated supply used by nothing else.. I have disconnected a touch lamp in a different part of the house in case of electrical 'noise' and even when a nearby FL tube light is switched off nothing changes. Can anyone suggest something please. Thank you.

Is this your device? The standard warranty for this device is 2 years. Maybe the device is bad.

If this is not your device, then a model number would help.

Thank you for your reply. Yes this is my Envoy. It worked fine for a few years after installation then just stopped. I have to consider that the Envoy may be faulty but a new one is expensive to have fitted and I want to consider any other possibilities before going down that route.

Did you do the reset on it?
Did you do a self test on it?
Can you go to the Enphase website and look at your account?
Should tell you what's the issue. Look at the power output for different timeframes or just look at the lifetime production.

MGE thank you for your suggestions. Yes, I have done all of the above and still no joy. The fact that all 13 micro inverters (not string) are not reporting must mean it's the envoy that's the problem. If I could find someone to fit one and set up a new one it would be good. All installers around here (South East UK) seem too busy installing new systems..

Do you have a diagram for the installation of the envoy and how its connected to your own wiring? I assume this is a single phase setup? I assume the envoy uses PLC to talk to the ecu. Are the connections for these communications securely fastened etc?

Davidcheok, thank you for your reply. I don't have a wiring diagram. Envoy was installed by an electrician on it's own dedicated power feed. Was working fine for about 4 years then just stopped reporting. Nothing has been touched or altered since installation. Domestic system so would this be single phase? Not sure if it has PLC.

Disclaimer: I don't own an Enphase system

Your envoy has two cables. One cable goes from the envoy to the router, the other cable is the power cord and is plugged into a power socket.

The envoy communicates to the microinverters on your roof through the power cord using power line communication (PLC). The signal from the envoy goes from the power cord, power socket, main panel breaker, main panel bus bars (which are connected to the grid), enphase main panel breakers, enphase microinverters.

                Potential causes

                1) Your device is locked up (in an unknown state). Maybe it was in the process of updating firmware and you lost power.
2 Noise can be coming from anywhere in your house and even from the electrical mains.
                3) You have a bad device.

                Questions to resolve:

                #1)

How do you actually know the Envoy is connected to the internet?

Does the web app work and what does the LCD display show?

Can you access all menu items?

If it was me, I would record/photograph each screen as I selected menu items. I also would record any and all microinverter serial numbers. In other words, I would want to get a data dump from the current Envoy LCD status. And get screen shots from any enphase web apps.

When was the last time you refreshed the IP address on your router for the Envoy?

#2) provided I could prove the ENVOY LCD was working correctly, I would switch off every breaker in the house except the Enphase microinverters and the circuit with the envoy. On the circuit with the envoy unplug everything else except the envoy.

To prove the envoy was working, you could then switch off the enphase microinverter breaker. The envoy should report that.

#3) I am fairly good at configuring electronic equipment, so as a last resort, I would figure out how to reset the Envoy lcd and configure the device from scratch. (although I can't any documentation that shows how to completely reset the Envoy LCD)

Installing a new Envoy LCD is super easy. unplug two cables and plug in two cables. The installation process can be found on the Enphase UK website.

When you reconnect your Gateway to the network, it processes the data in the order that it was collected; first in, first out.
This means that while your Gateway may be connected to Enlighten, no current data will be displayed until the "catch up reporting" process is completed. Your MyEnlighten status indicator will change to "No Microinverters are reporting data to the Gateway" in this case. But don't worry, this alert will be removed once the Gateway has caught up and the cached data has completed syncing.

Some great replies. Thank you. Phil, I usually have a TP link from the envoy gateway to the router. To test the connection I use a long ethernet lead straight from the envoy to the router. The ip address shown on the enlighten display is correct. When I set the envoy to do a devices scan the result on the lcd display is zero and shows zero watts being generated . The generation meter is showing power being generated and the counter is going up. I like the idea of turning off every breaker except the Enphase. I will try that. Amy, when I connect the ethernet cable for the Envoy to upload stored data the status on the Enlighten tells me that the inverters are not communicating with the Envoy. Many thanks again for your help with this.
