I have direct wired a 80w solar fan to a 100w panel with an on/off switch. This is working however I would like the fan to run overnight. I have purchased an 8 amp charge controller and a 35ah 12V SLA AGM battery. I have not been successful yet. What am I missing?

How has it not been successful? Off hand I'd say the panel can only produce enough current to run the fan when the sun is shining. There is no excess to charge the battery. Systems like this are real battery killers. Without a low voltage battery disconnect your battery will be destroyed in no time. -
I have another 100w panel and another 8 amp charge controller. Would this help charge the battery during the day so I can run fan all night?Comment

Depending on where you are located you might get 6 hours of equivalent full sun in a full day at this time of year. It is only going to decrease from now until the first day of winter. You want to run a fan 24/7. This will require at least 2 more 100 watt panels for this time of year. Winter, you might get lucky using 5 100 watt panels. I have two 80 watt fans running off one 60 watt panel in my garage. They are hardwired to the solar panel. No battery or controller. They run great all day only. Can you work with running a few hours in the evening and maybe a few hours in the morning? Maybe a timer, another panel and controller will work.2 Kw PV Classic 200, Trace SW 4024 460ah,Comment
