Was curious, if one were to want to get a Tesla battery what would be a good reasonably priced charge controller? I noticed many are 48v , but the 5.12kw battery is 51.2v nominal and 57.6v end charge I think it was. I know some charge controllers are adjustable (my 12v/24v can adjust voltage levels for charging). But, would a typical 48v one have enough adjustment to do 52 nominal and almost 58v peak? Was thinking it'd make a good stand alone battery. Not wired to grid

The Tesla Powerall includes an inverter/charger that is AC coupled so there is no need for a charge controller. Other than usomgs Micros or a string inverter, there is no practical way to directly connect to solar panels. I also believe it runs at a higher voltage than 48 nominal volts.Last edited by Ampster; 08-12-2023, 01:22 PM.9 kW solar, 42kWh LFP storage. EV owner since 2012Comment
