Is it necessary to wrap soft pack batteries in so many layers?

Initially, I planned to use 1.5mm thick epoxy boards between the cells, but they were hard to cut and too heavy. So, I switched to kraft paper for insulation. I wrapped the entire battery pack in kraft paper for waterproofing, added a layer of foam for shock absorption, and then surrounded it with epoxy boards for rigidity. This is how I planned to package it.

Is it necessary to wrap soft-pack batteries in so many layers? This increases both size and weight, making them less portable. Moreover, lithium batteries are prone to exploding at high temperatures, and multiple layers can hinder heat dissipation.

Recently, someone told me this method is inadequate. He mentioned that his battery cells have an additional blue heat shrink layer and suggested I add one more layer.

So, I’m asking everyone here: Is it really necessary? The battery pack already has three layers—kraft paper, foam, and epoxy boards—with no gaps left. How will this affect heat dissipation?
