But how does a 30kw inverter "start" a 40hp pump? It can't.
Also by the time the OP purchases the 39kw of panels and 3 phase inverter he would be spending over $100,000. He could have installed a diesel gen set and very large fuel tank to get his water and saved $70,000.Comment

30kw inverter can run the 40hp pump ,pls note it is 40HP ,not 40kw , inverter can >= pump power , it have been install in project ,work good , of coz ,you can install bigger inverter ,serive life can be longer
as i know , the 39kw pump and inverter the spend is about $20000-26000

That 40 hp motor will draw over 100amps at 230volt and 6 to 8 times that 100amps when it starts. What 3 phase 30kw inverter can do that?
