Thanks Mike 134 here is the data sheet for my inverter
You can see it is 31.5mm thick. The mounting tabs are offset towards the bottom of the inverter. When placing the inverter top side up, the top ends up being about 5 or 10 mm close the the backside of the panel according to the specsheet of the panel you supplied in your post. This is way too close. My two solutions are A: mount all the inverters upside down and that will give the required clearance of 3/4" or 19mm. or B: use the ready made "L" brackets designed just for this purpose.Comment

OK I have found out definitively that the APSystems DS3-L derate themselves to around 60% of full capacity of they get over 60 or 65 celcius. I have added heat sinks and solar powered fans to these inverters to see if this helps to keep them cooler in the hot weatherComment

What you could do is space the rows of the panels with a large enough gap for the hot air under each row to escape from the top of the panel and not let it travel to the rows above it.Attached FilesLast edited by davidcheok; 06-01-2024, 03:22 AM.Comment
